Collection: The County Collection

After two decades in Manhattan, the County collection documents the artist’s migration to the rural context, grounded by a quiet, restorative space. This contextual shift facilitated a refocused lens and simplified, quotidien cadence – the large scale urban grid recedes and subtle narratives emerge. An ode to the hills, meadows and forests of Litchfield County, Connecticut where Sarah now lives and works, the collection preserves the artist’s renewed experiential relationship with landscape and place. This collection offers 6 new patterns which explore the integration and layering of Von Dreele’s abstract and floral styles. Smaller scales and historic hues reference the New England context.
